    An Amsterdam-based daily newspaper. It was founded as a resistance paper during World War II. The newspaper changed from broadsheet to tabloid 2004.

    A daily evening newspaper published in the Netherlands. In 2006 a tabloid, nrc.next, was launched.

  • Norway - Aftenposten

    One of Norway's largest subscription newspaper (by circulation). It is based in Oslo. Aftenposten has a conservative stand.

  • Norway - VG Verdens Gang

    One of Norway's largest newspaper. VG Nett is also one of Norways largest internet sites. The first issue was published 1945. The newspaper has no party affiliation.

  • Poland - Dziennik Polska-Europa-Zwiat

    Dziennik Polska-Europa-Zwiat is a Polish nationwide daily newspaper. The first issue was released 2006. Dziennik was designed as a daily newspaper competitive to Gazeta Wyborcza, therefore its political profile is rather conservative, in contrast to its liberal rival.

    A Russian newspaper. It was the All-Union newspaper of the Soviet Union and an official organ of the Central Committee of the Komsomol between 1925 and 1991.

    A Moscow-based daily newspaper. Founded in 1919, it is now regarded as publishing sensational or provocative items on Russian politics and society.

    One of the largest daily newspaper in Spain. It first appeared in 1989. It has maintained a self-defined liberal editorial line.

  • Spain - El Periódico de Catalunya

    A morning daily newspaper based in Barcelona. El Periódico is actually two newspapers, publishing separate editions in Spanish (with a red nameplate) and in Catalan (distinguished with a blue nameplate). Its main competitor is La Vanguardia.

  • Switzerland - Le Temps

    One of Switzerland's leading daily newspapers. The French language newspaper is published in Geneva and has editorial offices in Geneva, Lausanne, Berne and Zurich.

  • UK - Financial Times (FT)

    A British international business newspaper. It is a morning daily newspaper published in London. Its main rival as a daily financial newspaper is the New York City-based Wall Street Journal.

  • UK - The Daily Telegraph

    A British broadsheet newspaper, founded in 1855. Excepting the Financial Times and The Herald (Glasgow), it is the only remaining national daily newspaper printed on traditional newsprint in the broadsheet format in the United Kingdom. The Daily Telegraph has a Conservative stand.

  • UK - The Guardian

    A British newspaper. The Guardian Weekly, which circulates worldwide, contains articles from The Guardian and its Sunday, sister paper TheObserver, as well as reports, features and book reviews from The Washington Post and articles translated from France's Le Monde.

  • UK - The Independent

    One of the youngest UK national daily newspapers. The daily edition was named National Newspaper of the Year at the 2004 British Press Awards. The Independent is generally regarded as leaning to the left politically, however it has traditionally not affiliated itself to any one political party.

    A Scottish national newspaper, published in Edinburgh. Its sister Sunday publication, which remains broadsheet, is titled Scotland on Sunday.

  • Ukraine - Holos Ukrayiny

    A Ukrainian daily newspaper published in Kiev.  The paper is an official voice of the Ukrainian parliament, partially funded by the state.

  • Ukraine - Segodnia

    Founded in 1997. A Russian language, Kiev-based tabloid newspaper.

  • Ukraine - Silski Visti

    Kiev-based opposition daily newspaper written in Ukrainian. Founded in 1920, it is read amongst the rural population.

  • Ukraine - The Christian Science Monitor

    An international newspaper published daily. In October 2008 the Monitor announced that it would cease printing daily and instead print weekly editions starting in April 2009.

  • Ukraine - Ukrayina Moloda

    A daily Ukrainian-language newspaper based in Kyiv. It represents the political opposition and caters to a younger audience.

  • USA - Chicago Tribune

    A major daily newspaper based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It remains the principal daily newspaper of the Chicago metropolitan area and the Midwestern United States.
